Polishing is all about the creation of smooth surfaces. On a microscopic
level surfaces can be visualized as a landscape of valleys and mountaintops.
By polishing one can smoothen the landscape either by "filling
in" the valleys or by "shaving off" the mountaintops.
All Ferro polishes use the second method. Surface elevations are
removed by abrasive and chemical means.
Ferro
industrial polishes are applied by rotating buffs or by hand rubbing
with a cotton cloth. Their purpose is to smooth the metals and other
surfaces and / or to provide aesthetic appeal to manufactured items.
Industrial
metal polishes are supplied in solid or liquid form, with solid
version for manual application and the liquid version for polishing
machines.
